while i do like this post you are neglecting several things. when floyd fought chico he was the under dog. several sports writers had chico by ko. but floyd dropped chico 5 times and won by ko. floyd also chased shane to higher wts. shane was chasing DLH and wanted no part of floyd as it was in his opinion a high risk low reward fight. floyd also challenged oscar 5 years before they fought. but arum would not risk his bread and butter vs floyd. as for p-will i wouldnt advise any ww to fight him this dude will wt about 165lbs at fight time a great disadvantage for ANY ww.

good points, but you have to understand, and maybe others dont because they have never been in a ring, but when a guy has good buzz(cotto) on his punches, then that negates a fighter from doing what he wants and limits his options during the fight... shane had to respect cotto because of cottos power in both hands...although, i still gave shane 7-5 rounds against cotto when scoring it, and i was not biased.

now my point is that floyd does not have that buzz, or pop and does not fight in combinations to keep shane from doing what he wants when he wants.
fighting is imposing your will against your opponent, like i said, jlc does not have half of the skill and athletic ability as floyd, but the fight was very, very close.

styles make fights.

shanes style will be too much for floyd.

floyd and shane are not going to stand at an imaginary line and box skill against skill....

there will be movement, ring generalship, activity, pressure, combinations and one imposing their will against the other..
