I didn't even have to watch it. Listening to Bert Sugar makes me want to get a time maching and go watch Jack Johnson or Dempsey fight in their time.

He is totally biased toward fighters of yesteryear and is so blinded by his prime he can't even acknowledge current great fighters and rank them accordingly.

This guy started talking about Hopkins and Jones being in the top 80-90 all time and don't even know who Mayweather is probably. He had the nerve to say Hopkins may pass up Jones on the ATG list if he managed to beat him this past weekend..........like a seasoned , so called expert don't even know the fight meant jack s.hit. It would require one to watch current fighters fight instead of old reels and beta tapes from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's to even understand todays world of the sport and advanced athletes. Sugar is stuck somewhere in the Ali or Holmes era still.

What a joke Sugar is. Anytime I hear his name I just pay no attention to the old cigar man living in the past too much to enjoy the present.

I'm done, I have no more words. Pathetic comes to mind.

I respect Bert Sugar, but yes this is bull****. Bert's ego is probably too big to admit that he overlooked the simple fact that Mayweather is just much more skilled and generally much more talented than Marquez.

His problem seems to stem from the fact that he based his opinion of Floyd having a tough time with Marquez based on the Marquez vs Pacquiao fights.

Well a person like him with a wealth of that much boxing knowledge should know that styles make fights.

He said that Floyd had a tough time with Marquez? You got to be kidding me. Did he see the fight or the scores that showed Mayweather not lose a round? Pathetic, this is what I'm talking about. The guy is in stage 2 of alzheimers syndrome.

            Lol no.

This was before Floyd fought Marquez.

Bert says that Marquez is an underrated opponent, and that he's more than a tuneup fight. He says its hard to leave the ring, then come back with the exact same skills(He goes on to namedrop Sugar Ray Leonard).

Then he says that Marquez won more rounds against Pacquiao, and outlanded him, besides being knocked down early in each of the fights.

            Then after the fight...

Bert flip flops and says Mayweather is a cherry picker.

I respect Bert Sugar, but that's bull**** at its finest.

JMM losing had nothing to do with size......granted it played a factor.....but it was more to do witht he style matchup.....it's not like Floyd fought on the inside and used the weight advantage to lean all over JMM and wear him down.....

People forget Duran moved up from 135 and beat SRL at 147......JMM had every right to try.......

Also don't forget Floyd fought Oscar at JMW as a welterweight.....and there are other examples through history where that has happened.

I agree, it's rather disappointing to see how the mighty have fallen.
