Why? Tszyu might have given him a little confidence. I wonder if Tszyu will push for a re-match. Was there a re-match clause in the contract? Lets hope there is!
i doubt if there would have been a rematch clause in it......i couldn't see Tszyu at his age thinking that far ahead.........although there could have been one for ricky had he lost....
Tszyu might have one last mega-fight and it'll be in the states against either DLH or Zab......

Sorry, I do not get "although there could have been one for ricky had he lost" - Generally in boxing the champion has a rematch clause. He is the one with the most to loose so it is in his interest to have a rematch clause. Standard contract IMO.
The only thing I can put it down to is:
1) Tszyu was too confident
2) Contract give-and-take negotiations due to the money involved (so he bent a little)
3) His manager is a muppet

My pick is #2
i understand and know what you are saying, but by tszyu beating the champion, why should he have to venture into murky waters to defend his title....he is an aussie and he fights mostly in the states........
i don't think tszyu would have been too confident at all, considering that 1. fighting in very murky waters, and 2. fighting an opponent 10 yrs his junior.....
i believe if this fight was fought in the states, the outcome would have been totally different..........

You can doubt it, mate, but I remember being surprised that Tszyu's camp asked for one.
Why again? This is/should be standard stuff! If I am the champion, I am confident but that does not mean I am betting my entire net assets on it! It seems very logical that every Champion vs challenger fight would have a rematch clause.
If the money was EXCELLENT and being offered by the challengers camp then I could half fathom no rematch clause.
Tszyu had everything to loose. Hatton had nothing to loose
