Marquez picked himself off the "canvas" and went onto have many great fights with great opponents, John's best opponent since then has been Marquez "left-over" Juarez. He hasn't established his legacy.
I really thought after the Rocky fights it was going to be world class comp from here on out, there were talks after that of him fighting Yordan and Guerrero at 130 and now he goes to this?

I have been a fan of John because I like his style but this doesn't look good.

One can only hope that this is a tune-up that leads to bigger and better things.

I guess if there's something good to be said about his opponent, it's that he went the distance with Acelino Freitas 6 years ago. That was the last time he fought a world class opponent. Decisioning local fighters for 6 straight years shouldn't lead to a title shot in my opinion.

I wanna see John-Lopez. Gamboa is a bit too green at the moment. He has a lot to learn, as he showed in his last fight.

So for a while John was listed as not fighting Fernando "1ko" Saucedo but I guess decided it was too lucrative of a fight for him to turn down.

I don't care if this guy is on like a 25 fight win streak because its all against local journeymen and several of those wins are against the same guys he fought like 2-3 times......see

Its not an appropriate defense for the #1 FW in the world and a shame because I though John was going to step up and fight good comp from here on out.
