Chagaev and Valuev never beat John Ruiz as impressively as Haye did. Give the Hayemaker his due.

It was a good performance, and exciting, but in terms of it being a guide to how he'd do against the Klitschkos or even against someone like Povetkin, there were so many flaws in his performance that I'd say his chances look worse now than they did before the Ruiz fight. Ruiz was able to land his jab almost at will; Haye didn't throw his own jab nearly often enough and never doubled it up; and he looked absolutely exhausted at the end.

Message-I'll hit you on the back of the head repeatedly to win, and I still can't knock you out.

I'll give Haye credit for not running the whole time like he did against Valuev. That's all the credit he gets, because he gets hit a LOT.

Haye keeps his hands down too much - It isn't just his left hand he keeps down. He believes in his athleticism too much to get out of the way but even Ruiz landed shots on him from the outside.

If he does that against either Klitschko Brother, he's getting steamed over and quick.
