why did Hopkins want that fight?

The whole storyline was revenge. Bernard got his revenge, but is revenge sweet when the guy you beat up was starched by Danny Green 3 month prior? Is it safe to assume this was a money move by Hopkins?

Looking back at it, I can understand why people were saying this fight is a joke. Its a lose--lose for either fighter. If Roy won, so what you beat an old Hopkins. If Hopkins wins(which he did), so what...Jones is so far passed it, he couldn't see his prime in the rear view mirror.

Yes. It was a terrible event and I imagine anyone who bought it will think twice before buying another boxing PPV again.

Here's my little story from about 2 days ago:

Think of it like this: Hopkins is a wise con-man criminal like Lex Luthor. Roy was Superman. Where Roy goes, the Sun shines and he rules. When Superman left the MW division to go and explore other divisions...Bernard-Luthor stayed behind an unprotected division where he knew he could rule over with the skies clear of Superman. Superman went on to bigger and better things flying high and fighting off bigger villains. Well until someone poured Kryptonite on him and then he was never the same. And then enters Bernard-Luthor.

Hopkins might not fight again, could it have been one last payday?

Well, Truth, to be fair, if you were cheering Jones on, you can't really have pity on him by saying Hopkins took advantage of Jones. Bottom line is no one in RJJ's camp is willing to tell him to hang em up, and when they were talking about the first fight last night, RJJ had a little of that muffled, nasal, punchdrunk sounding speech in his tone, which is very bad. He's never sounded like that. He needs to quit.

Hopkins'other choice was Chad Dawson, he didnt want to fight dawson because he says that dawson is not a big name and doesnt draw big enough crowds (Ducking or not, you decide)

The other choice bhop wants now is david haye, id take richard scaefers advice and retire bhop, haye would destroy hopkins
