Time to hang em up Hopkins. It's been a long and historic run.

I'm starting to believe it really is to achieve something only Jones Jr was able to achieve after Fitzsimmons that Bernard is chasing a piece of the heavyweight crown. In other words, it's about tieing Jones more than about being HW champion.
If there was a weak HW titlist out there, I would say go on Hopkins, beat him, but fact is, all titlists right now are totally out of Hopkins reach. Haye is suicide.
It is the one and only advice that Schaeffer should give to B-Hop.Comment

I agree B-hop had a great career and IMHO is the better of the two(meaning Jones). You have nothing left to prove time to take the Tarver route and join the HBO broadcast team.I use to love Jones when he was on HBO better then lennox I'll tell you.Comment

ya'll still don't get it...hopkins is an old hard rock cat who you gotta beat senseless for him to understand that its time to let it go...thats why he don't want no work with a dawson or an accurate puncher at this point...Comment

hopkins is a ignorant fucck that is ruining the sport that i love. he should be banned from boxing and banned from anything to do with boxing. his ego is so pathetic. i feel sad to have witnessed a man so dire to erase a loss he would go to any extent to accomplish. he is a disgrace in every way. i wish him bad luck in for the rest of his life.Comment

i figured he would beat roy so theres no hate there.
im just surprised a man that loves a sport so much would resort to acting instead of standing in with his great rival and giving us a fight worth remembering.
kapeesh?
oh and roy would get the last laugh because hopkins would get battered to death in the ring.
apart from that; hopkins against haye would be huge money both sides of the atlantic. i would have to seriously consider how that would go. BUT a 45 year old at heavyweight? apart from a good punch by big george, how has that traditionally gone???Last edited by dcull111; 04-04-2010, 03:11 AM.Comment

"Naw man, he should fight the best out there...Fight Dawson and Pascal then move up to heavyweight and fight Haye and both Klitschkos, and then retire at 48." ------ For some reason I can sense somebody thinking something like this... WE all know how ******ed some of these "fans" are on this site..They would see no problem in Hopkins doing that..Comment
