How far does Nard drop?

Thats definitely part of it, Hopkins head is the other part. Regardless of how past it Roy is, you don't fall back off balance like that unless you are trying to get away from something that keeps coming forward, and that something was Nards head.
I don't know Shawn. I think Hop gave Roy plenty of opportunities to at least throw punches and Roy couldn't get it done. Even when he did punch it was mostly one at a time. He just doesn't have the confidence in whats left of his reflexes to let his hands go anymore. At least thats how it seems to me.
Roy should have been prepared for that, but it looks like he wasn't. He obviously isn't what he was. He was looking for countering opportunities and Hopkins wasn't giving them to him because he put his head behind every punch.
Roy was doing well tagging him with the short left hook every time he came in, but it was short to the point of having no power. He was also doing good on the inside with his short uppercuts.Comment

Nard is a dirty ole bastard, no doubt. But Roy couldn't even step to the side to avoid Hops head because he has nothing left. Im not even trying to argue with you my man. Im just disgusted by that whole spectacle.Thats definitely part of it, Hopkins head is the other part. He's been great for a long time, but he's done. I'd like to see him retire with dignity rather than taking meaningless fights and falling further and further off. Jmo.Comment

it was a dominate performance just a sloppy one, i think hopkins showed too much respect for rjj. hopkins must have felt that rjj's lost to green was a complete fluke because he didn't go in for the kill or try and test roys' chin early.
hopkins played it cool and probably was expecting jones to be in less than tip top shape and was expecting to wear jones down and get the ko, well, jones come in shape and worked on his defense enough to survive the ordeal and make hopkins look less than spectacular in the ring.
ether way, it's over, and now, new things.
as for hopkins with the overacting with the fouls, if you notice, hopkins only acts out with the fouls ONLY WHEN TONY WEEKS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM, other than that hopkins took illegal shots and kept fighting, but when weeks was right there it was oscar night for hopkins.
as a hopkins fan, diehard at that, i was a bit disappointed and irritated, this was supposed to be a fight, a beating, and an all out war on roy jones, and he was trying to squeeze out some points deductions, not cool from my perspective.
also, i thought the winner would get 60% if he won by stoppage, where was that fight? i didn't see either fighter trying to get the ko, and that 60% is what kept them from signing a fight years earlier, so for that i wasn't happy as a fan and as a ppv customer. i am happy with the hopkins victory, but seriously it lacked form all the talk leading up the the fight.Comment

naw man, it's harder to hold down one weight class your whole career, than be a bigger guy, dropping down to smaller weights, beating up everyone, and because they were too big for that weight class to begin with, they had to move up because were the bigger guy going down in weigh to have an advantage.
holding down one weight like hopkins and calzaghe did, is harder than moving up, especially for how long they did it. now with all the fighters coming up to middleweight, that is them moving up to where their body will let them, which is closer to their natural weight. anyone who came up is where they more than likely shouldve naturally been.
also to mention, dudes dropped down to middleweight that were bigger than hopkins and he beat them at middleweight, just because it wasn't mainstream doesn't change the fact that it happened. hopkins has fought guys that dropped from super middleweight. your gripe is really biased and uninformed....... why not just say, i don't like hopkins.............?Comment
