Ike Ibeabuchi - Most Overrated Fantasy Fighter

Why is he so overrated? Who he he beaten expect Dua and Byrd? Those are the only two worthy names on his resume.

    Look at his resume: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...5981&cat=boxer

Look how at his opponents records, most of the have as man wins as loses. Even after he bea Tua, he fought two bums with records of 10-9 (Tim Ray) and 13-10 (Everton Davis).

I don't get what all the hype is about this man.

You might say "He wasn't a fantasy fighter" but all I hear is how he would've destroyed this guy and that guy.

Same as Tyson and Mayweather, they beat anyone in a fantasy fight.

I think the hype is justified.

To stand toe to toe with a peak Tua and beat him at his own game and to KO the unbeaten Byrd. You have to be special.

And his career was very short and ended before it even got started.

Ike was a really promising prospect but I haven't seen him get super hyped like you say.

He went nuts and heard Demons telling him to do bad things.

Tua & Byrd were beast back then. Also, the eye test is just as big as anything and anyone who saw him knows that he wouldve been hell for anyone to beat. I mean, if Wlad & Vitali had to stop fighting very early on for whatever reason then you probably would argue what they wouldve done when at that time they hadnt done anything

He showed a LOT of potential; brilliant strength, incredible chin and durability, nice varied arsenal with a lot of power behind it, in his short time he showed us a lot of determination, and so forth.

He was set for big things and it all came crashing down FAST.

While his resume is ratehr weak, he was in the early stages of his career to be fair, but, as someone also stated, he went toe to toe with Tua for 12 full rounds (setting a record in the process) and he annihilated an unbeaten Chris Byrd, who was a successfull and frustrating HW.

Ibeabuchi was a fast, HUGE heavyweight, strong, powerful, great jab, every punch in the book, head movements. Good on the inside, on the outside, beat a prime Tua at his own game, stopped a prime, slick as hell Chris Byrd.

I still think he didn't reach his full potential and didn't use his size advantage and his great jab enough. With a great trainer he'd have been an ATG HW. btw the version of Ibeabuchi we know couldn't beat Lennox Lewis. Did too many mistakes, sometimes using the wrong strategy.(against Tua for example)
