bert sugar is knowledgeable but he's extremely biased towards certain fighters he favors. w.e he's just a guy with a cigar and a hat, i dont take him seriously.

I totally agree. RJJR, Cotto, Pacquiao, Margarito, Hopkins, Mayweather...... the list goes on of fighters the oldies just dismiss. Any of these guys in their prime could beat anyone else in history imo.
eg. do you think a prime Duran could beat a prime Cotto at 140? I dont think so.Comment

Not only would Duran have beaten Cotto, he'd have done it rather easily. His skills were simply on another level.I totally agree. Cotto would get his ass kicked by Duran @ 140 or 147. Come on now. Duran was simply a better fighter, I can hardly think of any stylistic advantage for Cotto. Speed advantage? Duran. Power advantage? Duran. Defense? Duran. Stamina? Duran. Chin/Durability? Duran.
You get the picture.Comment

If Margarito were born 25-30 years earlier, he'd be @ 147-154 divisions with the likes of Leonard, Hearns, Benitez, & McCallum.
If Cotto were in that same period (forget 140 for Cotto under the old weigh-in rules), he'd be up against the same type of opposition. If he were in the mid to late 90s @ WW, he'd be up there against De La Hoya, Trinidad, Quartey & Whitaker.
I'd be hard-pressed to pick Margarito or Cotto against any of them (at least not until Whitaker got old).Comment
