Oscar De LeHoya: What has he ever done to warrant ATG status?

Originally posted by Calilloyd View PostOscar was dominant at 135 but two losses to Mosley, as well as Trinidad and Hopkins keep him from being called great. He had to win those fights to get to the elite status of fighters. Controversial scores against Quartey and past prime Whitaker don't help. Oscar's best win to me was over Vargas. And that was after Trinidad ruined Vargas IMO.

PPV record?
He was a cash cow for the sport for awhile.
He was freakishly popular.
And brought much needed attention to are sport.
He was a HBO fighter so they hyped him up like no other.
He was a very good fighter.
Not an ATG.

Who else fought Quartey at WW??
Also , what does that tell you about the so called guys you call "great" now?? Having losses to dudes that don't even get in the HOF.

Ali lost to Norton, Frazier but still is an ATG
Losing fights doesn't always stop that, especially when you go through guys who went on to do good things on done good things in the past
He accomplished a lot, beat some good to great guys, made a ton of bucks and most to go through his resume would do worse
His style was good, he had fast hands and a very good chin
