great fighters always have that one fighter that they struggle against e.g ali and norton, roy jones and tarver etc. just because because they give them tough fights it does not mean they are equal in the all time great standings. all time greats are judged by accomplishments, resumes and opposition.
I think Marquez is a definitely HOF, and has the potential to become an ATG. Why? I think he is one of those fighters that flew under the radar for awhile, although losing to Floyd, and two wars with Pac, one can still argue to this day as many do here, that Marquez was "the guy" to out-box pac. IF pac is considered an ATG by the mainstream, I'd be happy to say in my opinion that Marquez was the better boxer than Pac, and stand by that. Marquez had some memorable battles in his own right, maybe not as high profiled as Pac, however they were equally tough (possibly tougher) fights. IMO if he fights the top oppostion in 140 (which probably is his ideal weight) and wins coupled with his accomplishments win or lose; that is a recipe for "greatness"
