at Tennessee, well, he never really got the ball rolling...he was still dealing with Fullmer's recruits...Lane is 'ok' but i dont think he's the type of premier coach to run the SC program..

i hope im wrong tho...i kinda felt the same way with Pete when he first came in but he brought in Norm Chow with him so i wasnt 'that' worried
Yea, I see where you are coming from. The media has always made Lane out to be this good young coach, I just haven't seen it yet. Now his dad on the other hand, is a great coach IMO, I think that part of why Lane is as famous as he is.

TBH with you, I didn't think that Pete was actually going to leave. We've heard those rumors of him going to the NFL before, so I didn't think much of them. I thought for sure the way the 09 season went, Pete would come back and beat the mess out of everyone this year, so I can say I was bit surprised that he left. I was not however, surprised when Kiffin got the job. And I wish Chow would have come back. I loved how he had that O clicking when he was at SC.

But, do you think that could be cuz is not really their choice to brawl with him. But, Maidana puts so much pressure that he MAKES them brawl with him. Because they have no other choice since he is always in their face throwing bombs at them. ANd, like I said Malignaggi is not slick he gets hit ofter. He will get hit by Maidana. He could be suckered into a brawl. Maidana is better than what you're giving him credit for. He has some skills, he proved he is a good body puncer, body punching will slow down a boxer legs. I am starting to think if you not underrating Maidana then you really overrating Paulie.

oh yea...no doubt, Monte is legit...and as for Norm coming back, it would have been nice to see how he could have molded Barkely and Corp...but, it is what it is...i hope Lane doesnt **** things up

Kotelnik didnt brawl with him despite him being in his face all the time? I'm not underrating Maidana or overrating Paulie, I just don't think Maidana can handle boxers who wont go brawling with him. I believe Paulie will slip Maidanas punches all day just like Diaz's. Thats how I see it.

But, Diaz at 140 is not as good as Maidana. If you going by that fight you making a mistake... And, there have plenty of accounts that Madiana beat Kotelnik. Either way it was a close fight. Proving that Maidana can handle when fighters don't brawl with him right? And, Paulie is easy to hit.

No one can be the next Pacquiao..

Just like no one can be the next Mayweather..

Maidana needs to make his own name.. in his era, he need to beat Alxander, Khan and Bradley then Move up to fight some big WW to = the status of Pac..

I see a bright future for this kid..

I agree, at 140: Maidana >>>> Diaz. It was a close fight but Kotelnik beat him. Remember, Kotelnik doesn't know how to slip away punches he just covers up well. Malignaggi only covers up with one hand but doesnt do a great job at slipping away punches.

It still doesnt prove how Maidana will handle boxers who see his slow punches coming and can slip them away with lateral movement.

Maidana punches are not as slow as you making you out to be.

Hope so. Argentina is a great sports country who really support their big champs. Soccer and tennis, they are really vocal and exuberant in cheering and supporting. It would be great for boxing to see Argentina fans do what Filipinos are doing for Pac.
