Wow, I didn't know that. I wonder why?

He strikes me as someone who is good enough to compete with pretty much anyone in the tournament. Maybe he had a bad amateur experience or something that made him want to avoid a style in the tournament.

I'm pretty surprised that he wouldn't want to be a part of it.

If Bute were to fight the winner of the super six and win that fight, am not sure he can really claim to be the super champion as it will be unfair seeing as all these fighters are battling it out over two years with the winner fighting a possible 5 fights and possibly losing along the way.
Yet Bute can win 1 fight and claim to be the champ, its a bit unfair really but that's just the way it goes i guess

To be fair, during the Super Six, Bute fought Andrade in his round 1, will fight Miranda in his round 2, will probably fight Stieglitz in his round 3 (I mean, really, who else is there?), and then fight one of the two guys who didn't clear to elims during the Super Six semifinal, fight a Super Six semifinalist during the Super Six championship, and then fight the winner. That is a lot of good fights for him to win too.

That is, assuming he wins all of those.
