I agree that he is overrated, but not by a lot.

The reason he is somewhat overrated is because Andrade gave him such a tough first fight, restoring people's faith in Andrade, and then he blew Andrade away in the rematch.

He does have wins over Berrio and Bika though, which are nothing to discount.

Andrade only gave him a tough fight after he caught him in the 12th round. It was fun to watch cause you never expected that to happen. Bute was in complete control and dominated pretty much every round. I consider him to be top 5 in the 168 division...Right now it's impossible to say who the top guy is though.

Every guy Bute has beaten has been tailor made for him. He has never beaten another boxer.

His team keeps putting punching bags in front of him and he keeps winning.

I don't think that's the point. Quite a few posters on here think that the winner of the Super Six has to fight Bute for 'all the marbles'. That's crap IMO. The tourney winner is #1 at 168. No question.

Sure it does. Neither Kessler or Abraham ever beat a top 5 fighter and both made their reputations beating a caliber of opponent even lower than that which Bute has been fighting.

I guess Abraham gets a little credit for beating Taylor who is much better than anyone Kessler has ever beaten.

Both AA and Kessler travelled overseas to win impressive victories against top competition.

I think Bute is pretty good but I need to see him against other top guys to really know more beyond that.

I would rank any guy in the supersix over him just because of the competition faced alone.

History is going to look back on the super six, and the guys that participated will be remembered for this historic event. Bute's name will not be mentioned.
