there is a difference between not trying to appeal to everyone's likes and trying to get on everyone's nerves and i believe paulie is trying too hard to do the latter to gain mainstream exposure.

there's a lot of Boxers I can't "Stand" like Calzaghe, Both Klitschko's, Berto, etc..but I don't mind them neither..and 9 times out of 10..I tune in when they fight..cuz I LOVE the sport..I could give a **** about their personality..

all those boxers you mentioned are either hated because of their style, or because of the choice of opponents (and the stage of their careers)they made, or just plainly because of envy/success, these guys never tried to get people to hate them (at least imo).
