Tua is built the way a lot of Samoans seem to be built: stocky and thick muscled, that's why there are so many of them in the NFL. I don't think his conditioning is a problem: he just went 12 rounds with no ill effects. And he is working on his technique with Roger Bloodworth, a very respected trainer. I think Tua could take out Haye right now, but for reasons already mentioned, he has little if any chance against Wlad or Vitali.

David Tua definitely can box, he is winning by points in most of his fights before he knocks his opponents out. His biggest weakness are strong fast powerful boxers with long ass arms. Atleast thats my opinion is his weakness, which is fair since most smaller guys have problems with fighters that have that trait. Well, atleast if their good/great boxers with those advantages. Its kind of like Tua is the *******, and the longer reach good boxer is the sniper...
Was he robbed or was his eye just bleeding alot so they stopped it? Did his wiki say?Last edited by SoldierWarrior; 03-31-2010, 02:42 PM.Comment

I don't believe the slippery slope argument for one minute.Don't even do hardcore drugs. Hell, I don't even touch weed. And who ever said weed is not a gate-way to harder drugs is a liar. I seen the people around me, friends and family get into worse drugs because of weed. Yeah sure weed isn't all that bad for you but it defintely does lead alot of other people to try harder drugs.
I mean weed feels kind of like alcohol at-least thats the effects I had when I smoked it when I was a kid. I personally hate it. And I hate damn smell of it. Sure theirs ppl out there who can just get high and stay away from other drugs but thats a very very slim majority, their called cancer patients...
Sure people fall into it but I know plenty of people who just smoke weed and ocassionally just like they drink occasionally.
I actually think the people who got to harder drugs are the exception rather than the rule.Comment

okay... your really pushing it a lil too far with the brain injury theory.... Tua hasn't been active for nearly 3-4 years before last year... (not counting his BS comeback fights of 05) so hes still in kinda good nick ringwise... how bout this for food for thought.. Wlad has been K.oed 2-3 times right? lets say by some chance if they do fight and Tua knocks him into next week... Wlad will be brain damaged right according to you.JAJAJAJA, he is only human. He can't keep taking abuse to the head like that. He is lucky that the Lennox Lewis pounding on his head didn't affect his career since I think he is still good enough to fight the top heavyweights not named Klitschko. He can fight them and get that nice pay-check I just don't see him or anyone else beating them. And anyone who fights a Klitschko definitely has a good chance at having some form of brain-damage afterwards. Sure tests won't pick it up by years later with bad memory and so on it will be obvious especially slurring of the speech.
I share your enthusiasm for the dudes safety... but this is Boxing... and getting hurt is just a side effect.Comment

Damn, alot of junkies live in Jersey then...I don't believe the slippery slope argument for one minute.

Not that I know everyone in Jersey, just I seem to always be around druggies that show up at my house.Comment

I was a bit disappointed in the fight really. Only one man came to fight. Friday was sticking and moving which was expected early and for him to come on late but it never happened. Tua actually stopped and stood still a few times obviously frustrated with Friday's tactics as he continued to land a few jabs per round and one or two power shots in the latter rounds. Friday landed his best punches with around 1 minute to go in the 12th round when Tua wasnt worried about defence. All credit to Tua though, he kept his game plan in check and looked like he could go another 6 rounds easy but that was in part caused by Friday's inactivity. Friday also got hit with about 10 or 12 killer punches that would have put many to sleep including something i have personally never seen from Tua, a ferocious straight 1-2 combo with the right hand straight landing just over top of the hard jab, it was beautiful.Comment

Nah mate, Friday has THE best chin i have ever seen, he was caught flush many times and he didnt even flinch. Bloody gut is made of rock (he took some savage right hooks to the body) and his brain must be smaller than others because there is some padding there the likes of which i have never seen. From no one, ever.Comment
