    HBO Rejects Lopez-Concepcion... Showtime Accepts

One key development is Juan Manuel Lopez, one of their bright, young stars, moving over to Showtime for his next outing on July 10th in Puerto Rico against Bernabe Concepcion.

"HBO said that they didn’t have a date for him and that we should do for him what we want," explained the veteran promoter. "But Showtime is interested in him as well, and all our fighters are free agents in that way. The problem has been solved in Puerto Rico as far as the high-definition trucks; they have one now and so we’re going to have a doubleheader in Puerto Rico. They’re working on the second fight; it’ll be a good fight and we have a lot of fighters and we want to get them as much exposure as possible and we want to do as few pay-per-views as we can." http://www.maxboxing.com/news/main-l...-snake-returns

Doesn't HBO pay the big-bucks? Hbo has the better announcers too, I like them bickering at each other.

Jim Lampley KO's the whole Showtime team!

I can't decide whether if this is a good or bad move. It could be a good fight, but it could be one sided too. Plus we don't know how much Arum wants for Lopez' purse and if HBO wants to go all the way to PR for this fight.

IMO he should be relegated to Shotime status until he faces Gamboa, Caballero, Rojas, or John. I see him and Arum going after the Vazquez-Marquez winner afterward either way.

                War Concepcion!!!!

In all honesty though all the kid has is a puncher's chance against juanma. I'd be surprised if the fight even goes the distance and absolutely shocked if the kid pulls off the upset.

hbo gave golden boy a bunch of blank dates without even knowing who golden boy would put on.

that's why other promoters haven't been able to put fights on hbo.
