    Carl Froch underrated?

    Personally I think he is...

In his last 3 fights h beat Jean Pascal, Jermain Taylor and Andre Direll.

Jean went onto become champ at light heavy, Jermain OK hes done, but Direll just schooled Abraham!

    what do you guys think?

p.s. I think Kessler is now past it, and Carl will stop him late.

I wouldnt say Kessler is past it. He wont beat Froch IMO tho. Carl is a great fighter but I dont really see him as underrated. Quality fighter and has a good chance of taking this tournament. Will have a REAL hard time getting through Ward/Dirrell

How does one underrate Carl froch? Claiming that he is an absolute disgrace and that he sucks isn't underrating him in my opinion,it's just a fact.

froch has no talent and doesn't belong at this level.Pascal has yet to prove anything other than he is an exciting fighter. It's well documented that Pascal also struggled greatly to make 168 also.Taylor is a shot fighter and gave froch a lesson before suffering a panic attack and crumbling in the 12th round.froch lost virtually every round against Dirrell and got a gift.

He beat Pascal ( one of the current best light heavyweights) and knocked out a still relevant version of Taylor. I definitely think hes underrated, and its gotten even worse sense the Dirrell fight. His style is misleading because he looks slow when you first look at him, but hes actually an underrated boxer who can counter. Plus hes one of the best punchers in the tournament ( I'd rank him second behind Abraham as far as power).

Only time will tell with Froch, he has been exposed on a few occasions now and it’s up to opposition to be able to capitalise on his mistakes or lack of skill/speed. He’s a bit like Hatton or Margarito really, a come forward strong fighter, and it took the best in the world to work them out break them down.

We will see how Kessler handles him. And then I am sure lots opinions will be flying around. Personally ive got Froch for this a late tko..

But hey im from the UK so im a bit biased

If Kessler wants to win he'll need to keep that stiff jab going from the beginning. Carl is very open so he'll need to get close and land some quick hooks on the inside.

I might be wrong on this: I don't think that being elusive is a big factor against Froch. Froch's stance and movement are unpredictable and awkward, and as slick as Dirrell is, he had troubles landing anything big on Froch although he caught and stunned him a couple of times with good precise shots (and won the match IMO). Carl will look ugly against slick fighters but they won't necessarily have advantages because of Froch's style. Taylor took it to him and controlled the fight with his jab until he started tire in the later rounds. Kessler needs to go toe to toe with Froch but not in a headless way.

I'll pick Kessler but I don't think he'll knock Froch out. Kessler by UD.

i think he has class A conditioning, chin and heart. He clearly takes boxing very seriously...he is always in shape as far as i can see and makes weight comfortably without looking emaciated.

however i though AD beat Froch....and in terms of skill he is lacking. He is flat footed and will always be troubled by pure boxers...and lets not forget JT gassed again.....he was winning on the cards.

                  Terrible post.

Pascal's weight struggle isn't well documented. I had never even heard of it until you brought it up.

Froch was being beaten by Taylor but only by a few rounds. Froch started to get into the fight around the 6th round. Plus he KO'd him anyway.

The Dirrell fight was a close fight. Neither fighter landed much, but Dirrell's constant running and complaining to the ref was a disgrace to modern boxing. No way was was it a gift.

Also, Dirrell went on to dominate and knock down Abraham, something nobody else had done before. Yet, Dirrell had no way near the same amount of success with Froch. That tells me Froch is a lot better than people give him credit for.

The Dirrell fight didn't do much for him so he definately wants a good showing in his next outing. He has a chance against any of the rest but I find it hard to make him a favorite. One positive is that however he looked in the Dirrel fight, has more meaning since Dirrell beat Abraham.
