kell brook and nathan cleverly are the pick of the prospects for me. both future world champs.

yer kell brook looks exciting, but nathan cleverly is going through the ranks to quick for me. he needs to slow down a little bit maybe defend his belt for a couple of fight's and then go to the U.S. gavin rees aswell but i havent heard from him lately, and mathew hatton is finally getting title shots but a couple of years to late.

don't worry about clev - any fighter looked after by frank warren is in no danger of being stepped up in class to early!! he's the master of over protecting fighters to preserve their careers and marketability (meaning more money for him) unfortunately. warren always matches his fighters safely, to say the least. tbh i don't rate rees or matthew hatton as anything special mate, definately not world class.

good point about frank warren he has done it to greats such as, hatton, calzaghe and prince naseem and once they left him they instantly make more money, heck even amir khan has just done it. i only mentioned gavin rees because i saw him on prize fighter and he looked good but certanly not world class. as for mathew hatton ricky said after his title fight on friday that they will try and get him a world title shot, which to me is crazy talk

yeah hatton seems to have improved a bit, but he'd get exposed at world level, like rees did against kotelnik. it wasn't long ago hatton got outboxed by craig watson for the commonwealth title

                How are they prospects?
Clev's won the European belt and Mitchell is fighting for an interim-title?!

Surely a prospect is someone like Jeffries or Groves, yet to achieve....

I don't really understand the point of your post jimbolio, but just so u know, obviously mine and your definition of 'prospect' differs......... i'm only really interested in the top level of boxing, and i'm talking about future world champs (wbo, wba, wbc or ibf). that's the level i want to see young british fighters achieve. i respect all fighters, but european/ british title level (where those two currently are) isn't reaching 'the top' to me, and isn't to them either. those two are still prospects in my book, as they are still up and coming, and both aim to go much higher than the level they currently box at. they are both aiming to be top level world champs, but oviously aren't there yet......also, i never even mentioned mitchell once, as, like u say, he is fighting for an iterim title, so i see him as already having reached the top level, which he was always aiming for...........hope that clears up the confusion 4 ya.......

I know what youre saying and I'm not having a go it's just in my eyes they are past being prospeccts and are now looking to do major things.

I'm sure that most boxers would be proud to be able to fight for a National title, it's not only people at the top that put their lives into the sport.

Anyway to the point in hand, It's good to see other British fighters supporting each other like Froch and Hatton.
I hope it doesn't mean more people are getting in for free when I've paid £80 to go to the fight!
