But, I can understand why he was frustrated. I think the fight was rigged against him. The commentators dubbed it the 'All-American hometown hero versus the visiting villainous European'. The ref gave Dirrell a break every chance he could. Didn't want to give Abraham time for low blows, stopped fight when Abraham has Dirrell in corner, didn't count clear knockdown, stops fight when Abraham has momentumn to check his cut, etc.

Doesn't mean Abraham was right for punching him while he was down. But when you're in there, losing - and everyone is against you - I can see why he would get frustrated.
Yeah, and then when you add into it that AA is slow as molasses and only half the athlete Dirrell is, it's like he never had a chance! Totally unfair... Couldn't they have brought in some pathetic European fairy for AA to look good against???

That was disgraceful, as was his comments after the fight. He didn't see anything wrong with hitting a downed opponent then had the cheek to call Dirrell an actor. Come on man Dirrell was clearly messed up post-fight.

Roy Jones jr. did it to Griffin.

I can't remember how Roy handled it after the fight so if anyone still has that interview...please put it up.

Now for AA...eh...lost a bit of respect for him. He just looked frustrated from round 1 because he couldn't catch Dirrell so in the end, he wanted to get the better of him one way or the other.

Such Heavy Pressure does crazy things to people though so keep that in mind.

AA came off as a real cool guy in the build-up show for this fight and has handled himself well in the past from what I've seen. Nobody wants to lose.

I think Abe was caught up in the moment. He understood he was losing, and he needed to step up his aggression.

Hitting Dirrell was wrong though, and Abe had no class after the fight. But it is his first lost and he probably doesn't know how to handle it.
