I'd also say Liston's jab was heavier, but in all other ways inferior (hence my earlier post). Wlad's jab, however, seems much more demoralising. He was punching straight through Chambers guard at times, with three, four jabs at a time, each with pinpoint accuracy. That to me is much more discouraging for a fighter than a single solid jab landing in the kisser every now and then. As for best jab of all time, that depends on your criterion. A jab, more than any other punch, can't simply be assessed on its own. It must be looked at in combination with the rest of a fighter's game, since it's a means to an end, not an end itself. Some fighters, like Liston and Mercer, used their heavy jabs to briefly stun their opponents in order to land more powerful punches behind it. Others, like Holmes, used it as a range finder and a distracting tool. Wlad definitely has one of the most versatile jabs I've ever seen, though, in that he can virtually have his way with a fighter after a few rounds. This versatility needs to be taken into account.
Some people mentioned for top 5 jab have great jabs. But also they did a lot of other things that made them good. To me if Wladimir does not have one of the best jabs how is he winning fights? Wladimir's jab seems hard in the Chagive fight and Rahman fight they looked hard. But I have not watched Lennox in a while either.

i think it's almost as good as holmes'. maybe not as fast, but probably hurts more. wlad can throw punches after the jab faster than anyone i've ever seen. that right hand after the jab seems like practically the same punch. it's not really a handspeed thing, i think he just has extraordinary balance and coordination.

For sure, like others have said he can dominate a whole fight with the jab.

I didn't say it wasn't hard, just that it wasn't as hard as Lennox's. But you don't need to have the hardest jab to have the best jab as it isn't a power punch. Wlad does a lot of things with his jab that Lennox never did, and that to me makes it a better punch.

Thanks for the vid, but it's really no better or more authoritative than someone simply listing their top five jabbers. And Bowe? That guy got outjabbed by Golota... twice. He belongs nowhere near a top five list.

Foreman's a good pic though. Quite underrated jab Big George had, and knew how to use it well.

If you break it down, he wins his bouts with the jab. So yes, defo an atg jabber.
