    thats what i was thinking.
side note: how is this fight allowed to go forward as sanctioned by a commission? dont fighters have to fight in the same division? hes 2 divisions higher

this is a dangerous sport, by being 2 divisions heavier than his oponent he is taking unnecessary risks with funekas health. all cuz guzman is a lazy jackass of a person.

plus 9 lbs is just ridiculous. if he was 137-138 and couldnt get any lower it would be one thing but 144? thats BS man, no way to excuse it.

        yes dlt.

A guy knows his body. If he didn't think he could make it he shouldnt have signed.

Plus he switched trainers recently so everyone should be well aware of his weight and weighing him EVERY DAY.

Plus, he already missed weight before against Campbell.

        **** Guzman.

Man **** that 9 pounds?? 1st time i've seen someone cheat the scales like that. And you know what i think they did it on purpose because they knew funeka not really getting big paychecks would never turn a fight down. 9 pounds ****ing pounds if it was 2 or 3 then ok atleast he tried but 9?? I hope funeka beats the **** out of him.

yeah, we should be upset at Guzman. He didnt try and come in at weight, and if he cant make 135, and KNOWS it, which he clearly does and did throughout training, then he should not be fighting at that weight.
                Disgraceful.

I was a bigtime Guzman fan, but I hope Funeka teaches him a lesson.

It's pretty hard to be lenient with him, 9 lbs, damn. As you say, he should have moved up in weight a while ago. Kerry Kayes is an excellent conditioning coach, maybe Joan's been cheating with his diet or whatever, because Kayes would have made sure there was a programme in place for him to make the weight comfortably.

His promoters shouldve never made the fight. I feel the same way about Guzman. 1st off I have always criticized guys like JLC & Chico for staying down in weight so long. They were clearly too big but stayed down for a long amount of time after they shouldve moved up. I think that effects your body and can damage you nearly as much as a brutal beating can.

Then the fools always eventually move up but by then it is too late. The damage is done and alot of them end up being shot. Thats why I think Guzman looked like crap in his last fight. I heard someone say that he's overweight now to try to get out of the fight but lets be real. This was a guy who months ago probably thought he was the best in all of boxing or just 2nd best to Floyd. He dont fear anyone. He just cant make the weight, wether its all on him or he has a bad nutrition and trainer. Thats why I take no credit away from Ali but I think Guzman was a shell of himself last fight and tonight may be the same. Either way even if he does win, I dont think he will last much longer. I think it will be all downhill for him very soon because he stayed down too long. Now he will move up but it will be too late. Why wait until you now have to move up when you couldve done it in a healthy way 2 years ago?

Or maybe he didnt need to move up but just needed a better conditioning coach. Its like Mosley saying for years that he could never go back to WW but now he's there comfortabley. Sometimes you just arent doing things the right way and you need to have the right people around you. Either way, I dont know if its fair to fully put all the blame on him. He may genuinely cant make it anymore but his dumb promoter made the fight and the dumb promoters didnt check in on him enough. What happened to the 30 day weighin stuff? Its a joke for this to happened. Props to Ali for taking the fight after he was already screwed by Nate one time and he knows how JLC stopped Chico
Are you kidding me? how many times has this fool done the same thing already? if weight has been a constant issue for him then why the hell is he still trying to fight at 135?? it is not fair for the fans or his opponent when he doesn't do what he needs to do to make weight. This guy deserves no free pass, he's a disgrace to the sport.
