Floyd also loves to brag about how many belts he has won. So, yeah.

      If they don't mean anything,

he shouldn't use them as an excuse to fight bums, nor should he bring them up as his achievements.
I'm going to believe a no name poster over Arum and Floyd.

Floyd fought Gatti, the weakest champ at 140, and Zab and Baldy at 147 for belts when there were better champions. Belts gather dust, they're also an excuse for him to cherry pick opponents and palm off fights as bonafide world title clashes

He's right. In ten years, who'll be happier, have money and who'll be healthier? Floyd Mayweather or Miguel Cotto? Cotto could still be undefeated and would be a superstar if he'd have fought Baldomir at 147 and defended it against a weaker champ like Hatton.

Floyd chosing money over legacy is something that i hate as a boxing fan but that i could understand as a man.

Boxing fans want to be entertained and see the top fighters battle it out to see who is the greatest. Mayweather is a world class fighter who should fear no one. We aren't talking about some bum who is going into a ring to be knocked out for someone else's warm up.

Mayweather is in a position where he does not need to worry about money. People on this forum need to worry about feeding their kids. The concept of a multi millionaire saying he needs to feed his kids is a joke. He can take the purse from his next fight and put it into an account for his kids and they'd be set for life.

I do believe he cares about his record. I believe he wants to go undefeated and he avoids fights to maintain that record so I don't think he is being completely honest.

Let's face it, he's gonna be broke within a couple years of hanging them up anyway. The guy is a degenerate gambler and about as savvy with his money as a kid with pocket money. Seriously, why do you think he returned to the sport? The guy squandered tens of millions in less than 2 years.

Good point. As a boxing fan it is hard to respect him as a boxer though easy to admire his talent.

Bum, vacant belt, this, that, whatever your feeble mind thinks doesn't matter.

Tony was the longest reigning belt holder in that division who fought the most top 10 contenders during that time. Floyd ducked him in favor of someone who held the,

                      now get this,

                      the lineal belt.

So, if belts don't matter to him, or you, or the rest of you merry maids of Floyd,

why go after an even bigger bum, who was more unknown, with more losses?

You're just painting yourself into a corner and you don't even realize it.

                      Contradictions just like Floyd.

                      Also,

Can you shed some light on the belt he won at 140?

                      That should be interesting.
