Corrales ringside for Tszyu vs Hatton

WBO/WBC lightweight champion Diego Corrales plans to challenge the winner of Ricky Hatton’s IBF light-welterweight title clash with Kostya Tszyu ringside on Saturday night.

He now fancies a tilt at the 10-stone division, and backs his chances against either Tszyu or Hatton.

And with Corrales a regular on US Network Showtime – who are screening Tszyu-Hatton in the States – the fight would not be difficult to make.

The American will be a ringside observer at the MEN Arena, Manchester, on June 4/5 before issuing his challenge.

    -----------

I don't think Corrales should challenge the winner of this fight. I think both Tszyu and Hatton would be too big for Corrales. (It wasn't that long ago that Corrales was down at Super-featherweight!).

I think Corrales should chase the Morales fight, especially after The WAR he's just been in with Castillo!

My Only worry is that Morales might do a boxing clinic on Corrales though, and out-box him for 12 rounds?

Either way... Do you think the winner or this fight is a good choice of opponent by Corrales?

Doesn't really matter because he would lose either way, guess you would chose the lesser of two evils though. Morales would outbox him over 12 rounds but Tszyu would knock him the **** out.

Morales would meet the canvas for the first time in his career, Golden Boy. And I'd give Corrales a fair chance against Tzsyu, or Hatton for that matter.

I remember in the early rounds Pacquiao had Morales hurt with hooks to the body, but didn't really follow up on it... Morales has never really looked like he'd get knocked out from head shots, so I'd say... If you wanna hurt Morlaes - Go to the body!

That would be my advice to Corrales if he does fight him!

yea, and Morales oughta give Pac his rematch late this year.

I bet Pac has a higha chance o beatin Morales in rematch than Castillo has in beatin Corrales anyways. LOL!

tszyu would destroy corrales and send him into bolivia. Corrales has a much better chance against hatton but hatton will be knocked out so a corrales-hatton matchup probably won't happen.

I am not positive that I have warmed up to the idea of Corrales moving up to Jr. Welterweight. I want to see him stay at lightweight for a while I think. For me, the dream fight would be against Morales at lightweight, with Castillo in a rematch coming a close second. Why Morales ahead of Castillo you ask? Because I think that fight has the potential to be a fight of the year type battle, except with about half of the risk that would be involved in a Castillo fight (a quarter of the risk if it goes off at lightweight). I am not saying that Castillo would not be able to succeed up a Jr. Welter, but I certainly dont want his first fight there to be with the very top of the division (which the winner of Tzsyu/Hatton would certainly be.)

Corrales may be biting off more than he can chew here. I dont know much about hatton. I know he has a high work rate and could overwhelm Chico. Kostya Tszyu will eat Corrales alive, especially with Corrales standing right in the middle of the ring. No mouthpiece will save him.
