  • I Hate Boxing

Im sick of this ****. Im sick and tired for having to wait 6 months for fights all the time. And there still isnt even a guarantee after that. Nothing is more frustrating when you have to wait for 5 or 6 months to see your favorite boxer and then you want him to fight someone great after that because fights take so long but then they fight a scrub or a mandatory and you know you have to wait a long time again. I wish these guys could fight at a max of 3 months.

What killed boxing anyway? Cable and PPV? It sucks because boxing needed cable and PPV for the fighters to make real money but it killed the sport. One of the reason's boxing was so big is that you could see big fights on National TV just like every other big sport. Even in the 80's all the big fights would be on CBS and ****. I think if we could get back to that then the sport would be big again. Most people only know a few boxers but how big would guys like Mayweather be if all his fights were on CBS or something or atleast the big fights.

Now I cant wait for the fights coming up but then what? Theres no guarantee that the winners will fight eachother and then if they do you will have to wait like 5 or 6 months. I love boxing but I hate it at the same time

you should try doing the sport, and you'll rekindle your love for it. you dont have to be an spectator all your life, why not be a participant? try going to a boxing gym, do some sparring, train for the basics....

Now I REALLY want you to go to a gym. Try talking tough there, get in with a reasonably seasoned boxer, and see where your street fighting BS will take you...

i agree, in the first place i think you hated boxing because you cant connect anymore with the sport. street fight and boxing have alot of differences. participating in the sport requires discipline and mental toughness, added with physical conditioning.

participating in the sport you like will add more attachment to it. otherwise you're not really a fan of the sport, but of the athlete, in particular

I'm with DLT on this one. It's frustrating that there are so many politics in this game that prevents us from getting what we want. Boxing isn't held to the same standards that other main****** sports are in the US, and the lack of any kind of possible reform is discouraging. I will always watch boxing, and there are plenty of older fights to keep my attention, but there is no "boxing season," even though i wish there was.

But you don't have to hate boxing. In fact, all that other **** goes out the window when the bell rings and you've just got two guys with their hands and their brains, striving to win against the other. It's at that moment when the sport is most honest, and at its best.

Sorry old man,I dont remember the days when boxing was on National TV.j/k

I dont know, its hard pinpoint "glory days" of boxing, even if at times it was more,i dont know,"main******" Im sure there was more underhanded **** going on,no? Im sure it wasnt all sunshine and rainbows But in a way Espn is bringing back all the good **** in boxing,i dont kno what we could really ask more of really,I mean we got hbo & hotime, and espn to hold you over in between, and espn arent a bunch of chumps, they show their share of good ****.I would love to see the best/favorites,fight more often, but i understand the necessity of "tune ups",the **** that gets to me is when barrera will fight some chump and make it ppv,or,how hard can it really be to beat J.Ruiz's ass? his ass should be toast, but all the ghey promoter **** gets in the way, maybe boxing should be more "raw" but then you also lose some of the "protections"(making sure they dont get screwed) that boxers deserve,Its a compromise, i think if we had MORE boxing, not necessaryly like tsyu fighting every 3 months, just in general getting a little more respect for the sport, like showing a fight instead of cutting it off for a ****ing baseball game,i think that would go a loooooong way.
