Pressure behind the jab is how Mosley can beat Floyd

Pressure behind the jab is how Mosley could! beat Floyd, not to say he will but....

When people talk about applying pressure they tend to think of the fighter getting on the opponents chest and letting his hands go, thats not going to work with Mayweather as his defense is more effective the closer you get to him, what you have to do is stay at distance a pressure him from behind the jab, that is how ODLH was effective against him, by pressuring him from behind the jab, anyone see Brian Viloria's fight with Tamara? well that is how Mosley needs to pressure Mayweather ( the way Tamara did to Viloria), now i know ODLH has a much better jab than Shane, who's jab is non exist at times, but if he wants a chance to win this might be his only shot imo, because i dont see him getting through consistently if he just tries to **** away intight, not unless the ref allows him to man handle Floyd and assert his superior physical strength.

Oscar was tall and all his stuff was overrated in that fight. People keep talking about the jab and how he wouldve won if he had done it more but the only reason why he had any success with it is because he rarely used it. If you try to use the jab alot against Floyd, he will easily take that away. People have to rememember that Floyd was a very small WW at that time, moving up to 154 to fight a guy in Oscar who just decapitated Mayorga, and everyone was telling Floyd to be cautious because his hook can knock you out. I think Floyd himself was worried going into that fight because he didnt know how he would handle the weight, if Oscar's punches would hurt more than normal and so on.

Thats all it was about that fight. If they had an immediate rematch then Floyd wouldve killed him. You can just tell that he was super cautious and held back alot. He just didnt know what to expect. Also, Floyd has long arms and a good jab himself so there wont be many who can win a jabbing match with Floyd. Shane cant win a jabbing match with him

if shane will use his longer reach/jab wisely and won't tire out in the latter rounds he got a good chance to beat mayweather. as skilled as floyd is he's not the kind of fighter who will bring pressure to his opponent. he will be very defensive against shane and will just be contented countering all night. that's why it's very important for shane to establish his attack with his jab.

Shanes jab is one of his worst punches. Its a flicking jab that Floyd can see coming a mile away and he will counter easily.

Thats true, he is tall and does have a far superior jab to Shane.

What he did do that was not overrated was fight from the right distance. When you are trying to counter a guy you need him to commit to his punches because if he doesn't and you try to counter you can actually leave yourself open, now ODLH maintained the right distance and that gave Mayweather problems setting up his counters, problem i saw, and ive seen this before with ODLH is, he fell into that sleep walker stalking mode, then Mayweather was able to reset him with the movement and turn the fight in his favour.

Yeah we know you have to change up your rhythm when you jab because you will eventually get timed but that is applicable against any fighter.

Like i said about countering, when the opponent is not committing, that is also what made Floyd cautious, he knew he could not counter off what ODLH was throwing whilst he kept the fight at that distance, Mayweather's success came when he used his legs kept ODLH turning and punched off the angles.

Yeah thats the only snag, i reckon its still a better shot than getting on Floyd's chest and ****ing arms/elbows, getting picked off on the way in

Cotto could bring it with the jab and put pressure behind it.

Mosleys jab isnt strong at all, he just uses his weak left jab to set up his wild right over the top.
