also, the crowd might have swayed the judges, just turn the volume low and watch it

I thought Calzaghe won, it was relatively close but definately not a disputed decision in my opinion. Hopkins as many older fighters do(legs!), spent too much time on the ropes.

i thought hopkins won, scored it 115-112.

there are alot of ppl who dont know first thing about scoring fights, those ppl would think calzaghe won. dont get me wrong, ppl who know how to score fights can also have had calzaghe winning.

but basicly i hear alot of ppl talking about outworking and oponent but not understanding the proper meaing of outworking someone. they could have got it mixed up in this fight.

if two fighters both land at the same percentage and one just throws more, thats being more busy and outworking someone. simply throwing punches in bunches isnt outworking someone bcuz if u miss a large number of them, not only does simply throwing and missing punches not score u points. it acctually scores points for the oponents, defense.

alot of mainstream fans dont score defense and ring generalship, which is half of the scoring criteria. they also score plain aggression, which doesnt count as **** unless its effective aggression.

thats why u have ppl saying calzaghe won big, in reality it was a very close fight. couldve gon eighter way, too close to call a robbery and certainly not a clear win for eighter fighter.

Bernard got out worked, didn't get beaten up in any sense of that term but in no way won the fight.

                    Now then...

                    Horrible, horrible fight.

Part of my beef with this fight is that I got up early on Sunday morning (I was living in Asia at the time) to watch it, dragging myself and a severely hungover friend out of bed.

Part of that is down to Bernard Hopkins but I should have known...how many of Bernard's fights are classics?

On one hand you've got a guy (Calzaghe), who at this point in his career couldn't KO a straw weight...and on the other you have one of the dirtiest fighters in the sport.

Calzaghe out-worked him, but who hurt who more? As far as I could see, neither guy got hurt. Yes, Calzaghe was stunned in the first round but he wasn't badly hurt. Just stunned. He came back and out-worked B-Hop, threw more punches, did more for the judges and won the fight.

In the end I give it to Calzaghe (by two rounds) but I can understand B-Hops grievance. Just a horrid fight to watch, score etc

Maybe but lets keep in mind many of Calzaghe's punches didn't even land....
