My thoughts exactly. BHOP looked lost in most of the latter parts of that fight.

It was a close fight, tough to score.

Neither guy looked good that night.

I concur he was 2 conservative with his punchout put but I'd a given it to Hopkins if he was able to score just 1 more knockdown in the fight b/c Calzaghe didn't seem to hurt Hopkins at all.

I scored it 3 rounds apiece for the first six, giving Hopkins a 10-6 for the flash KD, but then Calzaghe turned up the steam and won the last six rounds very comfortably, making a fool of Hopkins who was only floundering for most of that period.

          Thus 116-111 for Calzaghe.

Sorry for the misprint, it should be 10-8 for the flash KD.

Calz won a close decision. There should have been a rematch. That fight was horrible.

he won the round where he almost got floored again comfortably? and the 10th round was clearly hopkins. in fact calzaghe only won 1 round in the fight "very comfortably" that was round 9. all other rounds he possibly won were very close.

Utterly disgraceful and shameful performance by Hopkins. I hold Bernard's skills in very high regard, and he has always been a dirty fighter, but his antics in this fight were really beyond pathetic. Running, holding, headbutting, faking injuries multiple times, etc. basically everything and anything he could do to sneak his one shot in at a time before using whatever illegal tactics to get the ref to separate them. It was all for naught anyways as Calzaghe eventually figured out that by properly feinting and then countering he could bring Hopkins out of his shell and then swamp him in activity. I think I scored it 8-4 in rounds for Joe with the 10-8 round 1 for Bernard.
