again , dont you find this kind of exposure unhealthy to boxing at medium term ?
No, it would be healthy to boxing. Just think of it like a movie-like experience where David has to fight Goliath, a James Toney fighting a Valuev, or Clash of the Titans, a Klitschko fighting a Valuev. Dude, where's ur creativity? Valuev would make a perfect villain in eyes of boxing fans.

But valuev isn't good enough to be an ambassador to boxing. I can't believe people who post on an Internet boxing forum, who obviously watch good boxing quite often, can watch Valuev and think he could hang with anyone ranked in the Top 10 of any of the big 4 alphabet organizations...

I've seen three of his fights and I think he can hang with the Top 10 heavyweights of any of the big 4 alphabet orgs. I didn't say he would dominate but he would be a worthy contender. I hope Valuev gets some more exposure for him to come to America to see what he's really capable of. I guess there's really no definitive way to tell if he can or cannot hang with the big boys until we see him fight.
Yao Ming starts center for a playoff team and is one of the franchise players.
Valuev is not anywhere near his level in terms of talent in his sport. The only way Valuev is marketable is if he pulls off a major upset of a recognized fantastic champion (of which none exist right now).
And anyone who has seen Valuev fight knows that 1) this isn't likely and 2) even if it happened, it would be a fluke accompanied by unfair media hype.
Valuev is not Yao Ming; he's more like Manute Bol or Gheorghe Muresan...
I think you are on another subject I am talking about appeal here not talent.
I mentioned this before, Valuev is quite possibly the ugliest man on the planet...you can't really endorse someone like that, can you imagine waking up to eat a bowl of cereal with him on the cover? Or turning on your T.V. seeing him do a Nair comercial? To be honest what boxing needs is great fighters, and namely great heavyweight fighters. It needs to get rid of all the old guys who's careers are declining and open up a new wave of prospects who deserve a chance to be in the spot light, underexposure of good young fighters and over exposure of old fighters who want the big money is the downfall here. Another downfall is styles which is probabley the hardest thing to convince a "casual" fan to like. Casual fans like the corrales castillo fight and the few fights like them. I'm not saying it was bad i was very entertained but.....I also respect the ability of a technician picking apart a brawler. One final comment before i make my decision on Valuev. The boxing industry needs to get rid of PPV fights of heavyweights with glass chins. The reason Boxing PPV for hwt. anyhow is declining is the fact that noone wants to pay 60$ to see a guy get knocked out in 30 seconds. FINAL POINT.... Valuev will only be good for boxing if he becomes a dominate force in boxing, who cares how big he is, if a guy can't win big fights noone will watch him.......unless his names Mike Tyson because people still love the old Mike......
