"The Philippines stops on its tracks every time Pacquiao fights". It is somewhat true, but these are the reasons why.

-His fights are almost always on Sunday, the coverage starts at around 9AM, and it ends at around mid afternoon. No work, no school, everyone is at home or watching the fight in the closed circuit cinemas. So in a way, the country does stop for a few hours. It's a weekend and a rest day too.

-People here do not worship the man or treat him like the country's savior. He is treated probably like how Jordan was treated by Chicagoans back when he was still an active NBA player. Everybody thinks he's the best and the most exciting player and he gives pride and happiness to the city. But they also see that he's human and he can be a jerk too.

-He will not win the congressional seat. He's barely taken seriously, things he does outside of the ring. He will never run foir president.

-I dont undestand why people get so mad at his fans for being so crazy and excited when his fight is about to happen. Compare it to an English football fan who's supporting his national team in the world cup. The country also stops for a while when their team plays, and they unite and they all go crazy and loud. Even if they think some of the players are jerks, they still support it for the country.

A Pac fight is like a world cup match for us. It's that simple.

That sex tour thing at the end was not necessary. He just sounds so ignorant.

In this, he talks a lot of **** about the Philippines. I'm Filipino and I found it damn hilarious because it's true. I agree with him about the blood testing (Pac should prove he's clean with a blood test).

Keep in mind that he's much bigger Pac fan than a Floyd fan (although he also enjoys watching Floyd).
