That is why I hate Jones when he fights somebody good he fights with them mentality that the fight is scored the way fights are in the amateures.
Dominating somebody is beating the **** of out of them maybe stopping them late or stopping them early. Not pit patting. Jones did not land a single hard shot on Hopkins in that fight just like in alot of Roy Jones fights he wins rounds and fights without landing a single damaging punch and idiots like you say that he "dominated." Even in spite of Jones' horrible style, I would probably have scored that fight 8 rounds to 4. Hopkins had Jones figured out late and won probably 10 11 and 12. If the fight was 15 rounds Hopkins would have won.

That's one hell of a crumb, to unify all the middleweight belts and make 20 straight defenses in the meantime, with only a couple of close fights in that streak.
Like I already said, 160 has been empty for 10 years now.

dominating is executing your gameplan and winning by a wide decision or stoppage imo.

roy jones executed his gameplan and coasted to a boring but pretty easy win over bernard hopkins, roy showed everyone on that night he was the superior boxer.

to make excuses for hopkins on that night is pointless, plain and simple roy jones got the W....

He was already older then and didnt capitalize on it by fighting other great fighters and now he is older. He is still the Champ and is still good but that Hopkins would kill this Hopkins just like he killed Tito.

Alot of people want to see Hopkins vs Taylor and Winky. They both have a chance to beat him and it sounds like most experts and alot of fans would pick Winky to beat him but if it was the old Hopkins then they would have no chance. He wouldve destroyed Winky. He was so much faster and rougher then. If anyone has it, they should go back and watch the fights with Holmes and Tito because that Hopkins wouldnt let Winky win a round. That jab **** wouldnt work. Hopkins would get real physical and rough him up bad

Its just sad that we had a great Champ but didnt really get to see him against other greats in his prime. I wouldve given anything to see that Hopkins-Jones fight at 168 after the Tito fight. Both were close to there primes. That wouldve been one of the greatest fights ever. I think that was more of Hopkins fault. He was to greedy on that one

Want to see Hopkins really do his thing go watch his fight with Glen Johnson. He was every bit the boxer he is now, but his hands were 10x faster.

You guys are wrong about that Roy Jones fight. Roy clearly won but it wasnt easy and it definatly wasnt lopsided. I had it like 8-4 for Roy and the overall fight was even closer. Roy was doing enough to win rounds but until Roy's defeat that may actually have been Roy's toughest fight. He played with everyone else but he had to work against Bernard and he even said it after the fight. That was not a easy fight by any stretch

Jones Jr has said that his toughest opponent was Jorge Castro from Argentina, he did better against Jones Jr than Hopkins did.. and if you think that Benn and Eubank etc were worse than Castro then you need your head tested. Just a thought

You cant listen to what Roy says. You have to go by the fight and Castro wasnt that hard. He is just saying that because he didnt want to give Bernard props. Castro was also the first guy who went the distance with him and he had a big time win-lost record. I know how Roy thinks. Castro lost to every decent fighter he fought and was already dominated by Terry Norris a few fights before the Jones fight. Bernard was his toughest
