3 days that close to fight could make a pretty big difference, you stop sparring so that can take some of the sharpness away, you stop running so you stop losing weight and mentally it's not really the best of things going into the fight knowing your opponent has 3 more days of crucial training over you.

Maybe the Iceman can shed some more light on this although I haven't seen him post in a while.
It would be good to hear his opinion on it. It's pretty hard to know what we are talking about when it comes to the sport, because, we haven't ever laced gloves up.

Never in all my years of watching boxing have I seen anyone just give up a title shot with no plan B in place.....what kind of morons are advising Godfrey? He will never be on network tv in the U.S again.

I lost all respect for Godfrey. The second a fight is called off, he stops training. This is why USS is a former world champion and will be IBF champ again. He's not in the gym just because a fight is coming up. This is his career and he's serious about it. Troy Ross has damn good power, and Cunningham's weakness seems to be his chin. I expect him to win a decision still though.

ross can punch but cunningham should really test him on this level with his speed and skill

ross fights every 6 months or so which wont help him if this fight comes through

Troy Ross won the contender series, outclassing his opponents.

He has a very good chance of defeating Cunningham, who may win a decision, but will definitely NOT knock him out.

Godfrey wrote his own professional obituary. he will never get another title fight and doesnt deserve one. The damage he caused Cunningham is huge and ESPN will probably think why do we need to televise this bull**** with guys dropping out of fights. They can just show hockey and not have to worry about amateur excuses like Godfrey's. Please Godfrey, spare us the future press releases and go out and find a day job. youre not a real fighter.

I'm still having trouble grasping it, Dwiens.
