I don't usually like to use the word "heart" when talking boxing but thats the best way to describe it in this case. I think its naive to say the only reason he kept coming forward against torres because he felt he could outslug him.
He kept coming forward because Torres wasn't the P4P best fighter in the world or a walking chin and he did ultimately end up outslugging him. Torres was a slugger who couldn't match Cottos skill, Pac was more skillful, faster, stronger, better stamina, anything you can think of what other choice did Cotto have but to retreat and try to outbox him?

Always thought Mosley could've fought a better fight and I think Cotto has been softened up somewhat now because of the beatings he took against Margarito and Pacquiao, Mosley by knockout.

cotto cant take big shots anymore. he dont have the killer instinct anymore. dont plant his feet to punch anymore. wants to defend like floyd and wind up getting battered. moves around far too much for his effective style. mosley would beat him now because cotto cant take mosley power shots as he did in their first matchup.

I see your reasoning but I still feel that cotto before the Margarito fight and after are different fighters. He doesn't fight with the same conviction.

I more than agree it could be wishful thinking on my part. Like I said I'll know more after he fights Foreman.

Let's see you not break by getting hit by plaster shot after plaster shot. Pacman's also the #1 or #2 fn fighter in the whole world, so losing to him means your shot? Fn bull****. he was just a terrible terrible fight for Cotto because he was too short and too fast so Cotto could hardly touch him. Cotto's only 29 and still could accomplish alot more IMO. He's still top 5 at WW with Mosley, Pacman, Floyd, and Clottey. He's still a huge task for anybody.
The Margarito fight was a beating...and possibly with a deadly weapon, then the Clottey fight, even though he won, he came out the most damaged and the Pac beating was even worse, he got the **** beat out of him for 10 rounds straight, I'm a fan of Cotto, but I don't think he can hang that well against the ELITE at WW, I hope I'm wrong, his next fight for sure will tell us where he stands.

i think cotto can still take him. the only problems cotto has trouble with are pressure fighters and high volume punchers. shane is neither. when cotto boxes and uses the ring, he's great.

If he's the Same Mosley that beat Margarito back in January of 09 then I think he would beat the crap out of cotto. Mosley old tho, That long layoff coulda ****ed him up

COTTO for me,, COTTO has the perfect jab in the business today remember in PAC vs COTTO his left jab is landing at will the same with MOSELY vs COTTO plus the body punches and uppercuts. Cotto's key to victory will be to outbox MOSELY and use the ring. The problem with cotto is his STAMINA.

Cotto has Steward or is that just theorhetical? Anyways, that's one of the reasons he didn't las long against Pac, bc Cotto had ****ty trainer. I say he beats Shane again with Steward.
