now if, margariot is brought up as a possible opponent for pac, of course he's gonna be talked about more.
but like i said, margarito lost a lot of fans. justifiably so.
The only reason why people are talking about JMM is because of Manny. His biggest thread on BS is because of Manny.

You're talking about right now. I said he was more popular than JMM when he was active.

floyd isn't fighting any of those guys. none of them have a big enough fan base to generate enough money to make floyd take notice.

That's what he said about SSM before and now he's fighting SSM.

Manny's team said the same thing and now they want to fight him.

but you have to consider the fact that this fight has been brewing for years.

So I suppose floyd didnt have great skill before he fought DLH? Up until DLH,floyd wasn't a draw at all. Oscar introduced floyd to the mainstream. If floyd is great,it's at lightweight. Yet,he couldnt sell **** down there. However, wasnt he already highly skilled at lightweight??

The reason floyd is a big draw is because he's an undefeated American always boxing on his home turf. Alot of people buy his PPV's to watch him lose. Floyd's "0" ,plus obnoxious, pompous behavior makes people dislike him. It makes people want him to lose his undefeated record. Which is what he wants. He sells that fake thug **** real well. We all know that dude isnt a thug. Thugs dont fight like he does in the ring. They fight like Tyson. He knows his skills alone can't sell a fight. Floyd is a bore at welter. Everyone except his lovers know this. It's why he's real picky with whom he gets in the ring with at welter. Once he loses, his draw will be less unless he rematches the man whom he lost to. I for one have already stopped buying his PPVs cause he doesnt fight in the ring. DLH sparring match was the last straw. I realize he's skilled,I just want him to take more chances in the ring. Then again, you cant teach an old dog new tricks.

Casual fans also pay for skills. You can have all the marketing in the world, but people aren't going to pay money to watch two fighters with little skills.

They're part of the reason why he does well, but the man does have a large fan base. Prove to me he doesn't have a large fan base.
-when did floyd carry a fight on his own? baldomir?
-the bold part is a lie. you overestimate the casual buying public. marketing sells.
-no he doesnt. get over it. all you need to worry about is that you're a fan.
the proof is at his fights. the mayweather contingency is SPOTTY at best. the proof is when i went to watch marquez in the theaters and about 70% of the theater was rocking the red, white and green. 25% was neutral. the other 5 pulling for mayweather. the proof is the overwhelming support marquez got in his fight from the crowd. the proof is in despite the overwhelming marquez support, the fight was still 4000 tickets short of a sellout after giving many of them away...and after 6 months of promotion. the proof is in floyd begging for american support on TV. even he knows he doesnt have that many fans.

i dont understand how they can ship busses from tijuana or other parts of mexico or have thousands from the UK flood vegas for mayweather fights, but you only see pockets of mayweather fans on the strip....and thats basically where mayweather's made his home for the majority of his pro career. he cant even carry his own area.

its ok he doesnt have that many fans. it doesnt matter to him, but in that regard he is an anomaly as far as being a draw.

it'd be ****** to use threads on NSB as a barometer for a fighter's popularity. this is a boxing community full of hardcore fans.

i am talking right now and i am talking about at the time of the PBF/JMM fight.
