Cotto needs a guy like Steward who is established and has no problems berating his fighter in the corner and slapping him around like a schoolboy.

The way he asserted his authority over Wladdy is something only a veteran master trainer can do when dealing with an already established multi million dollar earning athlete.

Cotto does not need anymore family members training him or lapdogs like Santiago who will let him do as he pleases.

He needs Manny who will take no **** and push him to train like a ****ing madman.

Cotto, if you're reading this, hire Manny Steward FTW!

I think at this stage in Cotto's career, what you see is what you get. I don't see Steward implementing anything that's going to make Cotto this much better fighter. I'm a big fan of his, but when he gets hurt he just evades.
Unless Cotto puts on a brilliant performance in June, and it kills me to say it because I'm a big supporter of his, but I think we've seen his best days come and go.

Yeah I'm not sold on Manny as a good choice for Cotto or for any fighter to be honest with you, he's overrated IMO. He hasn't impressed me with any of his fighters in the past 10 years or so.
