I agree VK and WK should definately start sparring with eachother again. I would also agree with his chin, but its clearly no where close to being as good as Vitali's chin is. Wlad has been KD 4 times in his career from punches. 3 against Sanders and 1 against Steve Pannell. The Steve Pannell one is the one that has me worried, though he was pretty young when it happened. -
Getting some KDs is fine. Sanders has a great chin, and yet he was KDed several times. Wlad should probably learn how to take a knee at the right moments. Mesi is a good example to follow. Wlad's chin is not great, but he has to work with what he has.Originally posted by NeuraxisI agree VK and WK should definately start sparring with eachother again. WK and VK said they don't want to sparr for family reasons ... For exactly these reasons, they should get back to sparring each other.Last edited by Nautilus; 09-26-2004, 11:29 PM.Comment

Yeah I'd really like to know when they stopped sparing. As for taking a knee, I've never seen Wlad hurt besides the Sanders fight. If you are implying that he should have taken a knee in the Brewster and Puritty fights, I would say that instead of doing that he should recognize when he is tiring and not panic by throwing more and more punches hopeing that your opponent collapses before you burn out. As for the Sanders fight, he could have done a lot more things in the Sanders fight besides taking a knee. Like don't move to your right to avoid a southpaws straight left, don't flail your arms throwing pointless punches when you are hurt, and don't be too proud to clinch.Originally posted by NautilusGetting some KDs is fine. I was not negating pacing and other boxing smarts as part of the right arsenal. However, taking the knee, when realizing the fight may be over due to tiredness, may not be a bad idea. Certainly, it would look smart and unconventional. I think Wlad was drugged in the Brewster fight. Had he taken the knee prior to some KO-looking punches of Brewster, many would have looked at the outcome of that fight differently.Originally posted by NeuraxisYeah I'd really like to know when they stopped sparing. I agree with you there. How strange would it have looked if Wlad had collapsed like he did at the end of the 4th round while taking nothing from Brewster and ref called the fight. I don't see why it wouldn't have happened either.Comment

Even after what happened to him against Williams?Originally posted by TheGreat1i think Wlad is 2nd in the HW div as far as offense, it's hard to put anyone before Tyson.Comment

We are just going to have to agree to disagree then. I don't think that I've ever seen Tyson throw a triple left hook like Wlad does and Tyson's straight right and jab are nothing like Wlad's either. Tyson is more of a brawler than a boxer.Comment

But you can't deny that he dominated in his time.Originally posted by NeuraxisWe are just going to have to agree to disagree then. He was the "Baddest man on the planet" during that time.Comment

The prime Tyson is the best offensive heavy-weight fighter. It is hard to say what Tyson is now. Due to his leg injury, it is hard to say whether Tyson we saw against Danny is close to being the prime Tyson. He may still be the best. I hope the prime Tyson comes back soon.Comment
