Currently he's the equivalent of a younger Amir Khan. Huge TV exposure early on his career to get a fan following. Until he steps up in comp, we'll have zero idea just how good he is. He can fight tons of cans all day long and we'll still have no idea if he's the real deal. I'm sure he'll eventually take a step up but at 19 years old, I still don't see how he can compete with "men" unless he's a Tyson like freak of nature at a young age. I'd say wait until he's around 23 years before throwing him to slaughter.
no hes not. hes more advanced skill-wise than your avg 19 y/o pro and he actually has had pretty decent comp.
he doesnt need to be a freak of nature, he just has to be more advanced in terms of skills and intangibles...and he is.
fighters his age dont even know what patience is, dont have his timing for counters or dont even know how to set up shots using subtle movements. heck even some seasoned pros dont know how to do that.
he just needs to gradually step up his comp, but he's already got some solid wins on his resume.
lanardo tyner, michel rosales and miguel vazquez are solid for a fighter at his stage.
