I wouldn't read too much into it, as has already been said, Mexicans root for Mexicans, Filipinos root for Filipinos and black guys root for black guys. I look at it more as patriotism.

That's not to say that Floyd definitely isn't racist though, I just don't see that comment as being particularly racist. Hopkins is undoubtedly racist, even Ali was racist as hell but nobody seems to care about that anymore.
