I walked into that one with Tua. I forgot he lost to Byrd. But my point still stands for Vitali.

Vitali was well ahead on the scorecards and only lost because of his shoulder injury.

it's a known fact that tua had the stomach flu for the byrd fight.

plus he didn't wear good socks and was forced to wear winning gloves.

I don't think Wladimir's 2000-2003 title claim should be considered equal to Lewis, who had been avoided by Bowe, thus given the vacanted WBC heavyweight title, and side-stepped by Tyson, thus given the vacanted WBC title again. In Wladimir's case he hardly has a case to having been a legitimate champion because he went onto be knocked out by Sanders before having a chance to fight Lewis.

Of course most people probably look at it using hindsight, with the WBO given recognition as a legitimate title now, but back in the 1990's nobody recognized the likes of Damiani and Hide as legitimate title holders.
I see, so according to you Calzaghe was not a champion when he held the WBO title, and so didn't have 21 defenses as supermiddleweight champion, right?

So, you don't give credit to Lewis for Vitali either, then?

Trying to suggest that Wlad is anywhere close to Lewis as a fighter is frankly laughable.

I do. I was just responding about Vitali's fight with Byrd.
