How I know HW's Today Are Shi* Compared to even the 90's.

i get the feeling the only reason why some think this is the worst HW era ever is because of the Klitschkos domination... personally, If they were American i think WE will all be singing a different tune.Comment

I agree Champ, I've been saying this for a while. These sort of Heavies are a Joke and make boxing look like a joke. All these so-called contenders are slobs. Look at them. A guy at 210, and he looks soft? What a ****in joke man. Look at the guys tyson was knocking out in the late 80's. They were all ripped and ****. You got guys now with guts who are considered the best shot at beating a one dimensional klit sister. Its such a joke.
David Haye. At least he's ripped. No other contender has any determination.

If you can't get fit, then you shouldn't be fighting.Comment

Great rebuttal. Well put.Dude Mercer would've KO'd Arreola and was in much better shape when he was a contender. Look at guys like Norton, Evander, Razor Ruddock, trilogy bowe, tyson........at least they were athletes.
Most contemporary HW contenders look physically sloppy and have a lot of bad weight on them.Comment

Difference, being there Era's overlapped, and existed at the same time. No out there now is there to challenge the klits.Holmes and Bowe are considered great champions yet they both looked soft as can be yet most of the chiseled fighters couldn't beat them for some reason...
Most of the guys Tyson was KO were chubby club fighters. The NBA and NFL were just as popular and black since Holmes was champion so quit using that lame excuse (I don't remember anyone using that excuse when Holmes, Tyson, Holy, Bowe and Lewis were champs, so why use it now?) to try and dent the dominance the KlitschkO brothers are having for an unprecedented length of time and challenges.Comment

Bowe was uite a big man and not that soft. He was actually very athletic like Lewis was very athletic in his younger days.Holmes and Bowe are considered great champions yet they both looked soft as can be yet most of the chiseled fighters couldn't beat them for some reason...

When most of the divison is soft, then it says something.
Only Klit brothers and Haye have that hugner and tonedness.
Chambers is not on the level of anyone great, but I like him. I ahd Wlad winning easily though so I'm not sure why everyone is so damn happy and ecited about it.
Like I have Haye ebating Ruiz, giving away 3-1 odds. Ruiz is the ebst fighter Haye will have faced, but I have a good feeling he will destroy Ruiz IMO.Last edited by PensionKiller; 03-21-2010, 05:40 AM.Comment

No i have to disagree with all of that,i have been watching boxing since the mid 80s,and the 90s heavyweight were sick there were 10-15 contending guys at that point theres not even 2 now.The HW division is the same as it has only been but for a brief period when several excellent fighters were competing at the same time in the 70s.
It is the same as always where there are just a few guys who are head and shoulders above the rest and a bunch of contenders who can't touch them really and are not on their level.
Arreola is the modern day version of what Ray Mercer was in the 90s.Comment
