Yes, I do think Maidana is overrated.

But he's pretty exciting except when he's getting his head boxed off like in the Kotelnik fight.
    That was a robbery.

I thought it was a close fight where Kotelnik controlled the action the second half of the fight.

Then Kotelnik proceeds to lose to Rich Loc.

There is a reason he won't rematch Ortiz, and thats because he knows, he knows he was hurt, he was in trouble, and he knows he got lucky.

There is a reason he didn't enforce his mandatory against Khan, and it's because he knows, the speed and power would be way too much for him.

Maidana is complete and utter CRAP people, so can we please shut up about him for **** sake!
THANK YOU! Finally somebody with a functioning brain!

Maidana is a hybrid of Margarito and Mayorga, making him one of my favorite fighters in the sport.

But he has much less skill than the two of them, and neither of those two have much skill to begin with. Just power and a chin, and we all saw how that held up against skilled fighters. And on top of that, Maidana doesn't even have the chin part.

LOL. I always like Margs, but disliked Mayorga.

But that makes for an exciting, albeit not terribly talented fighter.

At least he won't back away from a brawl although he kind of looks like a choir boy. El Chino, the asian choir boy from Argentina.

Margarito was a top 5 WW for the entire decade.

Don't give me that "no skill" bull****.

You don't beat Vernon Forrest 2x if you got no skills.

And Maidana's chin is granite. Ortiz punches like a mule and Maidana ate it like tic tacs.

I'll take Maidana, Margarito and Mayorga over your pansy ass "favorites" list.

Bradley is a G, but the rest are *******.

There's nothing really special about Maidana. He's got heavy hands but that's about it and I don't expect him to be a champion for very long. Valero has more talent than him, for sure. Valero also will not be some long reigning champion though. Both decent fighters but I doubt they amount to anything special or long term.

I think Khan easily beats Maidana. That is why for the life of me I can't see why HBO let that Golden boy deal go through. GBP is the devil...

I agree 100%. Seriously, dude was close to quiting against Ortiz himself. Too bad Ortiz didn't gamble on another right hook.
