"i want to point out as well, we've been talking about other sports, which are already using drug testing, be it cycling, be it the Olympics, basketball, baseball, and so on, this here is not hitting a ball or cycling up a hill, this is two guys standing in the middle of the ring, hitting each other in the head. I think they deserve to have the highest level of protection. If the highest level of protection is to introduce Olympic style and random drug testing, the gold standard of drug testing to the sport of boxing, then how could we not be for that?"
this quote says it all, how can anyone not support this?Comment

Do you KNOW why this Travis Tygart wants their amateur style of drug-testing to be implemented in professional boxing? IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY. This means additional MILKING COW for them. It's pretty obvious in how he belittles the existing Commission's drug testing procedure. THIS AS*HOLE NEEDS TO ADVERTISE HIS AGENCY FOR IT TO SELL.
"S C A R E D"! THATS THE LAST WORD THAT WILL DESCRIBE MAYWEATHER JR. AS A FIGHTER. LET THE SHOW OF USADA AND MAYWEATHER JR.BEGIN... ROLL CAMERA, ACTION!!! ANYWAY, THIS JUST A COMEDY SHOW.Last edited by burjim; 03-20-2010, 01:48 AM.Comment

Why didn't all the guys on here that support the new rigorous drug testing, say anything before the Pac vs May fiasco. If you ask me, this is all getting pretty ridiculous.Comment

Alot of us, like me, were not educated enough on the suject. Now we are.
Are you suggesting that I should be against rigorous drug testing because it wasnt my idea?
So in your personal life, if you hear a good idea from someone else, you discard it because its not yours?
Come on man think with your head...Comment

this is undermining the work of the commission. this is "overkill". but if the commission say yes to this, pacquiao will have no choice but to obey..but the question is will chicken floyd stop looking for another excuses to face pacman? lately, the coward from michigan rapids already indicated that if the ppv results of his fight with mosley supassed that of pac, then he will make another demand. so i really believe chicken floyd is scared to fight pac.
i hope im wrong but this is what i see.Comment

Kelly Swanson:
Welcome everybody to today's conference call. I'd just like to introduce the speakers for the call today. First, we have Leonard Ellerbe, Chief Executive Officer of Mayweather Promotions, Richard Schaefer, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Boy Promotions, Travis Tygart, the CEO of the United States Anti-Doping Agency and Judd Bernstein, a representative for Shane Mosley. We're going to get right into the call today. It's very exciting and historic, so at this point I'm going to turn it over to Richard Schaefer to open the call and with comments. Richard? Tygart is still dancing around the question of the cost of the testing procedure in saying previously "priceless" and now (preceeded by some mumbo jumbo about "We're comfortable that we'll have the resources dedicated to this to make this effective") that "they can't afford not to do it". Resources dedicated by who? Wouldn't that be the source who is paying them? Make no mistake, Tygart is about making money for the USADA and these tests will be expensive. Now, I'm not saying I'm against testing by any means. My point is, this whole thing is supposed to be heading towards cleaning up the entire sport by making it mandatory in all of boxing in all States, right? If the testing is so (obviously) expensive that they have to dance around the question of the cost of it, that will be the primary problem for the Commision to mandate it in the first place (too expensive). Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the State Commision mandates it (as USADA believes all States should), then doesn't the testing cost come out of the individual State Commisions pocket? If they mandate it, then they have to do that for EVERY single fight (big or small), yes? This will be the issue for the Commisions ($$$$), not simply cleaning up the sport, IMO. I could be wrong, just not enough known about those details yet to know.Comment

What about all of these boxers walking around with clear mental disabilities from getting whacked in the head too much. Performance enhancement will only increase the number of those cases. We need better testing PERIOD.Comment
