You can't compare sports like Basketball to Boxing because Basketball is covered everyday on the hour (literally). There's not a day that goes by that you don't see Wade, Lebron, and Kobe...AND Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, etc. Every team for the most part has a star on their team as with Boxing you have a top 3 which right now is Pac, Mosley, and Mayweather. You also can't involve Golf in comparison because Tiger Woods though is the face of Golf, he doesn't win every event and isn't always the #1 ranked Golfer in the world. Plus, Golf has a huge following that's been present way before Tiger became a Pro.

As I said, Boxing will never die because there will always be that next star. But if you take Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Mosley out right now, Boxing is left without a Mainstream star which the sport needs heavily.

No.. Just not even.. UFC 100 was the most stacked card ever, and piled up a supposed 1.5m PPV's. He sure as hell didnt bring those in by himself.

If he never was in the WWE he would have a way different career and not even just popularity he gained a comfort level in front of the camera since he was their face right after The Rock left.
His popularity has risen in my opinion by beating good comp in the UFC. Sure he brought some fan base from the WWE but a lot of people doubted him. Now they really don't.

And Pac and Floyd did?? lol

Floyd and Pac can't make a million PPV without a good dance partner.

Those three names are more than what mmgay has to offer.Mmgay, the ufc in particular sells the entire product, the name rather than the individuals themselves. There are no legitimate stars in mmgay other than a guy who Vince McMahon created. And he is viewed as a complete freakshow rather than a skilled athlete.

Don't worry there, lad,our sport will survive without the likes of you polluting it.
^^^^ See what I mean lol...Ignorance at its finest, and not once did I say I prefer MMA over Boxing, but some people act as if Boxing pays your bills or is the cornerstone of your life (which if you're not involved remotely in the business...is quite sad).

I understand ur point fully but i'm tryna say ALL sports create superstars within them..even without Pac, Mayweather etc, their would b someone else who is the star..i mean baseball was covered everyday and after the strike it took a good while for the sport to come alive again..so i do believe i can compare boxing w other sports but again i feel ur point but u gotta understand there will always b another start i mean hell if WWE can lose Rock, stone cold etc and still keep goin what sport cant lol

I am sure he has gained some popularity amngst MMA followers but they probably still knew who he was from the WWE . Being in the WWE helped Brock be a lot more recognizable, if he went straight from college wrestling to UFC he would probably still be popular because he would still beast dudes but he would be a lot less known than he is and it would have taken way more fights.

Also how he does the whole bad boy persona seems straight out of the WWE.
