        ugh god no

roach would have been a great choice, lots of talent around to spar with. has steward had any real success outside of heavyweights? i still think steward has enough insight though to improve cotto's game. i just dont know if cotto can mesh with steward enough to make him any better than he already is.

IMO i think someone like nacho is the best option, he speaks spanish, he can connect to cotto more. steward has not had much success outside of heavyweights this decade. you can call jermain taylor a success if you want, but he did better against pavlik after he parted ways with steward.

im not saying mcgirt does not know his stuff, but if a fighter is getting dominated on the world class stage, why am i never surprised when mcgirt of all people is the trainer - and then he steps through the ropes to say something like "cmon baby you gotta stop taking them shots"

who knows what is best for cotto - but i do hope that who ever he picks works out.

This fight with Foreman is another easy path to a title like the Jennings fight was.
That's funny...i watched the latest Foreman fight and he reminded me of Jennings very much I wasn't very impressed. I'm more confident than ever.
Btw...just ignore this guy's Cotto remarks. i dragged Iceta out the Cotto haters closet before he got banned.

He just rants about hating Cotto. He is one the biggest Cotto haters on the site. Thyng hav no brayne.

I doubt it matter who trains him...Foreman don't impress me much. Cotto likes to be the aggressor and Yuri ran most of his last fight, getting lucky with pot-shotting, and won. Cotto will win the fight, imo. I'm willing to bet the house on it. Foremans style is a perfect set-up for an aggressive-walk-u-down Cotto.

He only has 8 ko's compared to Cotto's 27. And Cotto is moving up in weight! More ko power. Cotto has more fights overall also. More experienced fighter.

Me too, i think more weight will add to his style of boxing. He's a powerhouse kinda fighter. Not a slip and slide counter puncher kinda boxer like the lighter weights. I thought he looked a little thin @WW anyway. He has a good sized frame, and if he fills it out and actually starts training right with a good trainer that will push him hard, we might be seeing a new Cotto.

This could play a big part in re-inventing himself. I never metamorphosis i didn't like!
