Bob Arum: "Initial PPV numbers are in, final tally won't get lower than 650,000"

If you missed Pacquiao-Clottey, fought before a crowd of almost 51,000, HBO will replay the pay-per-view bout Saturday night (11 ET/PT).

The pay-per-view numbers aren't out yet because Arum and HBO PPV only have totals from the satellite services.

"All we have is the satellite numbers and they are very strong," Arum said. "We're not giving out any numbers yet because we have very little [information] from the cable systems, which you need. The cable numbers are very fragmented, so it could be a few days. But the number that you can't go any lower than is 650,000 for the fight. That is the worst it would do, but it should be a lot higher."

I ****ing love boxing. That is an enormous success, especially for a fight that wasn't hyped as a superfight.

For the record Bob Arum is a ****ing liar don't believe him until the real numbers come out. I still think this fight did very close to that number though.

I agree, a few people won't see it that way but I agree. However, I don't really can trust Bob either with the numbers.

            Good poll question.

Better poll question: Would anyone trust Bob Arum to tell the truth? I wouldn't trust his word if he told me he was giving me a dollar and taped it on my forehead.

If it does around 800k it would damn impressive considering how very little promotion they put on and clottey having no fanbase at all.

Haha, I spared myself. Now I get to watch this snorefest for free on HBO this weekend.

if it reaches 700k, that will already be a respectable showing considering that clottey is a ghanian with no fanbase and was generally unknown to the casual fan.

I said 800k before the fight...

Taken into account Clotteys drawing power and NO 24/7... that's a HUGE success IMO.
