Pavlik beat Taylor, taylor was a slcik boxer when they fought both fights. Martinez has lack of power, espesically at 160lbs, pavliks power will break martinez down.

Taylor was nowhere near as slick as Martinez. His defence was poor.

Fights are won and lost on more than just power. Martinez was able to slip most of Paul Williams punches and he throws 1000 per fight with speed from all angles. I dont see him getting tagged by Pavliks slow ass 1-2

Williams,Cintron,Margarito all hit Martinez a lot. Martinez does not do a great job not getting hit. And if Margarito can knock him out Pavlik can knock him out. Plus Pavlik knocks people out to the body and goes to the body a lot. That might slow Martinez down.

great point about the body shots, people underestimate pavlik, they just say hes 1 2 fighter whos one dimensional. Pavlik will KO martinez

On the outside he throws straight punches. On the inside he throws uppercuts and left hooks and goes to the body. I don't know why people go on and on about Pavlik just being a one two boxer either.

Martinez. Both guys are a level above the overrtaed Paul Williams.

I feel the old boxing credo “styles make fights” applies here. I think fighters like Martinez will always give Pavlik trouble with their cleverness, improvisation, and shiftiness. I just think Martinez is catching Pavlik at the right time here,Martinez is far more battle-tempered lately and Pavlik’s career seems to be headed in the wrong direction.

He could conceivably turn it around, but the signs are troubling(a series of fights against inferior competition, a rumored battle with the bottle, pullouts, and the lopsided loss to Hopkins.)Martinez will face danger throughout the fight, but I feel he will over come it.
