When your trainer tries to correct a flaw in your technique, lets say you ark the right hand like Jermain Taylor and your trainer wants to iron that flaw out because it will make your right hand harder to land due to the opponent being able to see it more etc, its down to the fighter to make a decision to shoot it straight and keep that elbow down, not months of hard training in the gym, essentially what happens is you might of been told not to do this a 1000 times but the penny only drops when you decide to listen and correct it YOURSELF.

So what exactly are you doing for your argument?

First you say that Pacquiao got better because of his hard work

and then through the steroids argument, you argue that hard work doesn't make you better.

      I'm confused.

I know James Toney did not take roids when he was at 160/168 but do you honestly think Toney became a better fighter than these guys who had extensive amateur career's because he honed his skills by working out hard in the gym? sure he might of improved them by being a student of the game studying film etc, but what makes a fighter like Toney better Boxer than some decorated amateur who is not as good a Boxer is the fact Toney naturally has a better appreciation for the things you need to do to make yourself a better fighter, therefore he correct his technique to give himself a better opportunity to win the fight, not because he works out harder than the next man and therefore learns more.

What im saying is that the penny has dropped with Manny, he has a better appreciation for what he needs to do, what Roach teaches him to make himself a better fighter.

Well a degree of hard work goes without saying doesn't it, i mean you cant be a pro fighter and get to this level without working hard, even a wild men like Mayorga has had to work hard to get to this level, not that they have improved dramatically(technically) as fighter because of that hard work.

              That goes without saying.
