You know.. at first I thought this fight would be close. Shane is a hof fighter with great power, great chin, and heart. BUT, the more I think about it, the easier I think Floyd handles him on May 1. Why do I think this? Let me explain:
1. THE BIGGEST FACTOR- Shane has no defense. NONE. He hardly EVER puts his hands up. I mean you can go way back to the first DLH fight even. Watch the Cotto fight. Every time somebody lands a head shot on Mosley he just waves his hands in the air and tries to create distance without ever defending himself. Put your hands up Shane!!
2. One dimensional- I really like Shane. He's a nice guy and a good sport... well except the steroids **** but everybody makes mistakes. What's Shane got in his arsenal? A jab? Not really.. Shane throws a little pitty-pat jab out there with nothing behind it. Sometimes he abandons it altogether. When he does throw the jab, he only uses it to disguise his right hand (his bread and butter) which immediately follows it. He did show a decent hook in the Margarito fight but Marg was basically standing still. When else has he shown the ability to land a left hook with any consistency? What happens when Mayweather fights somebody with ONE weapon? He neutralizes it. What happened to Oscar's left hook? What happened with Hatton's "relentless body attack?" The same thing that will happen with Shane's right.
3. Only one way to win- Love him or hate him, Floyd is a master boxer. People say "Oh Floyd just runs all night" --C'mon man! I love it when people say just because Floyd back peddles and plays more defense than offense.. he's just a runner. That's ridiculous. Floyd plays chess when the rest of these guys are playing checkers. Shane's best chance is to land a lucky punch? Are you serious? Yeah, umm good luck with that Shane.
4. The verdict- I give Shane credit. You ain't gonna KO that dude. He's got a hellacious chin so I'm not gonna get all crazy and say Floyd's gonna knock him out etc. like some of these "*****s", or whatever you guys call them, say. I do think Mayweather is going to have a field day on Shane. Lopsided UD win for Floyd. At first I was thinking maybe 8-4, but now I'm thinking along the lines of 10-2.
I know you guys are going to go crazy and tell me I'm ******, etc. for thinking this, but please tell me where I'm wrong. Shane has never faced anybody like Floyd. In your responses, please give credible arguments without resorting to name calling. I don't believe civilized adults must do that to have an intelligent discussion.
