you ever heard of the rope a dope, except he wasn't letting him hit him so he would tire the opponent out but so he would start exchanging with him. watch the 2nd knockdown in the cotto fight, that is how he catches cotto. and i am sure a couple times he did just get caught but that is manny's style, he will always take some punches, but yeah i do believe that he wanted clottey to hit him and to let his hands fly because that is when manny will take over the fight with his speed and ability to adjust to a war. manny tries to provoke fighters to exchange with him, if you don't know that than you clearly haven't watched any of his previous fights.
Why do you hate Pac?

No one actually hates manny pacquiao. It's his ******ed fans that make them not stand pacquiao. Before the sudden influx in *******s, no one talked about Manny in a bad way. Same thing for Mayweather. No one genuinely dislikes him as a boxer, but his ******ed fans make them not stand Mayweather. Same goes for Cotto, Calzaghe, Naseem, etc. etc. etc.
If someone was an older mexican(late 30s-40s), I can see why you would dislike Pacquiao though.

fair enough, and i have only seen like 3 or 4 duran fights, and one of them was the hearns one, then again i saw the first one against leonard and the barkley one both which he looked sick in.Duran would outbox, outfight and take everything Manny has to offer. Manny has speed in that fight and nothing more. Duran takes it 10 times out of 10.
Yeah I thought it was pretty dumb as well. But i believe people hate on Manny because his choice of opponents and the fact he created a 145 weightclass, and of course the FMJ fans probably hate on him.Comment

Im a huge boxing fan and iv had to of watched at least a dozen Manny fights.you ever heard of the rope a dope, except he wasn't letting him hit him so he would tire the opponent out but so he would start exchanging with him. watch the 2nd knockdown in the cotto fight, that is how he catches cotto. and i am sure a couple times he did just get caught but that is manny's style, he will always take some punches, but yeah i do believe that he wanted clottey to hit him and to let his hands fly because that is when manny will take over the fight with his speed and ability to adjust to a war. manny tries to provoke fighters to exchange with him, if you don't know that than you clearly haven't watched any of his previous fights.
I still dont think he would let someone hit him. Manny like 99.9% of fighters clearly does not like to get hit.
Duran was a beast. If the Hagler fight was a 12 rounder Duran wouldv clearly won. That says alot due to the fact a natural lightweight was fighting the greatest middleweight of all time. Hearns knocked out Duran at a low point in his Career, this is well known.Comment

im a fan of floyd aswell by the way,its simple manny is a great fighter who is very entertaining to watch and always gives the fans moneys worth, then you got floyd who is very talented boxer with great skills and knows how to hype a fight up,between them two they cover all angles of boxing,ie,speed, skill, footwork, warrior spirit, heart, guts, glory, great fan base, humble personalty, great chin,so if you dont like any of them and what they stand for then your not really a boxing fan imo,you can dislike them as people but you have to admire and respect their skills, thats what i meant by my postComment

thats your opinion that duran would beat manny 10 times out of 10,i would doubt that myself, duran was great with a iron chin but i could see manny beating him at 140,it would be a war but if they fought 10 times id give manny at least 50 percent of the wins,
manny never created a 145 weightclass, that was roach and arum idea,i cant see manny moaning about 2 pounds but it was wrong he should of fought cotto at 147 for the title but cotto never had to take the fight if he didnt want to.he only had one fight at the weight so you cant really hold that against himComment

Manny has never fought someone with the skills and talent like Floyd. You're crazy if you think Manny is throwing 100 punches a round against Floyd. Floyd will make him pay if Manny starts going crazy. He let Clottey hit him, the same way he let Cotto hit him, he was trying to get clottey to let his hands go. how can you not see that, and his strategy wouldn't be the exact same for floyd. i dont know how you think floyd can handle a strong, fast WW throwing nearly 100 punches at him around. He has never had to defend anything like that before.Comment

The rope a dope is not letting your opponent hit you flush in the face. Don't get it twisted. No fighter purposely takes flush shots to the face if they don't have to. Yes you do look ****** when you say that. Pacquiao was the better fighter and he won in a landslide. Leave it that. But making excuses for the punches he takes by claiming "he let them hit him" is childish and ignorant. He got hit. It happens in boxing. This is a perfect example of why many of his fans get on peoples nerves and answers the question in your thread. Pacquaio himself would probably be embarrassed to read some of this crap.you ever heard of the rope a dope, except he wasn't letting him hit him so he would tire the opponent out but so he would start exchanging with him. watch the 2nd knockdown in the cotto fight, that is how he catches cotto. and i am sure a couple times he did just get caught but that is manny's style, he will always take some punches, but yeah i do believe that he wanted clottey to hit him and to let his hands fly because that is when manny will take over the fight with his speed and ability to adjust to a war. manny tries to provoke fighters to exchange with him, if you don't know that than you clearly haven't watched any of his previous fights.Last edited by Calilloyd; 03-17-2010, 04:08 PM.Comment

Manny has never fought anyone like floyd but you have to admit that goes both ways. I think that is part of the reason the fight is so intriguing to a boxing fan. manny has never dealt with that kind of skill and defense and floyd has never had to defend manny's kind of skill and offense.Comment
